We go to school tomorrow!

Three things to update you with since our last post:

We met with Dearbhla Gill, Principal of Realt Na Mara National School to set a date for us to engage her pupils in the project. That date is tomorrow, Thursday 18th June, and is our first formal step in actively involving the community in the project. We’ve a corryboard map ready to help with planning and are looking forward to seeing, hearing and exploring the ideas that will emerge!

The wonderful weather for Ryan Tubridy’s outside broadcast on Tuesday 9th June, gave us an opportunity to mingle and share flyers outlining the project. Everyone we talked with felt the project was a good idea and many spontaneously began sharing ideas with us – and one of those ideas, assuming it is agreed to during our public sessions, could bring this project to a whole new level.

The following day saw us having a very positive meeting with Michael Carty, Senior Executive Engineer with Sligo County Council. We won’t reveal any details until all is confirmed, but let’s just say we left there very excited about the prospect of the help and expertise Michael felt he might be able to offer-!!
